This program will review how to reach validated prescriptive targets using probe-mic measurements (PMM), and the increased efficacies associated with using this hearing aid fitting protocol.

Verification of validated prescriptive targets using probe-mic measurements (PMM) remains an integral part of fitting hearing instruments. Objective verification of output, comfort, maximum speech understanding, and hearing-aid features embody best practices when using probe-mic measurements. This course will review research on PMM verification, outcome measures, and research showing efficacy and efficiency. Elements of best practice for probe-mic measurements used to verify validated fitting targets will be discussed.
